Hairdo Drawings

These digital drawings are made using Illustrator software. Thematically they are related to the Topia, Utopia, Dystopia installation, manipulating nature to either improve it or negate it depending upon ones perspective. In this case human hair, which has the potential to become a vehicle for self expression, is an artistic medium. The images fall between diagrams and representation, depicting hairstyles real and imaginary, current and outmoded. The drawings make references to toupees, extensions, and powdered wigs.
